Every morning, she squeaks the moment she hears footsteps. 

Even on hard days, that sound makes me smile. I sit by her cage and talk to her about things I don’t know how to say out loud. She listens quietly, nibbling her favourite treat, and somehow makes everything feel lighter. 

She isn’t just a pet — she is my best friend.
